Who Joins a SACCO?
There are certain conditions in the Co-operative Societies Act, Rules and By-laws on who may join a Co-operative Society.
Those who are allowed to join a Co-operative Society as members are those who: |

Have attained 18 years, |
|
Have a common bond, |
|
Are of good character, |
|
Are of sound mind, |
|
Are ready to accept the Co-operative Societies Act, Rules and By-laws of the Society. |
How does one discontinue being a member?
A person may discontinue to be a member of a Co-operative Society if he or she: |

Is expelled from the -operative according to the by- laws, |
|
Dies, |
|
Becomes of unsound mind, |
|
Withdraws or resigns from a co-operative, |
|
Or is a member of a co-operative society that is wound up. |
|
